Driving Test Tips
April 07, 2016You have had hours and hours of lessons and practising that has lead up to this moment, your driving test! You may be excited or you may be nervous, either way here are some of our top tips to get you though this challenging moment!
Make sure you are ready and have had enough lessons:
40 hours plus around 20 of private practice. That’s the average number of hours with an instructor that it takes to pass, according to the DVLA.
Get to know the area your test will be taken in:
Ask your instructor to take you around the possible routes you might have to do on your driving test.
Be prepared:
Get a good nights sleep and make sure that you have eaten something before your test.
Things to remember on the day of your driving test:
- Theory test pass certificate
- photo card driving licence
- glasses if you need them for driving
Mistakes:
Just remember not to give up after a mistake. You might think you've made the worst error ever, but calmly putting it right and carrying on shows you can deal with problems on the road.
Choose your test time carefully :
Some people won’t think twice about what time of day they take their driving test, but there are certain times when the roads will be quieter, which could possibly work in your favour, especially if you get flustered easily. Avoid doing the test at rush hour – both in the morning and the afternoon/evening. Little things like this can reduce the amount of stress you’re under on the day of your test.
Don't rush:
Your friends may be passing there test before you but everyone learns at different times and it more difficult for some people than others.
